Accademia and Florence Tour Itinerary

Get stuck into a day of exploring everything the striking city of Florence has to offer with an early morning tour of art, landscapes, and masterpieces. We begin with a small-group walking tour through Florence’s historical centre. Throughout the Florence City Tour, you’ll have a professional guide providing the backstories behind many of these magnificent settings. We’ll find our way through the bustling city streets, eventually arriving at the Piazza Duomo. Learn about the incredible story behind Giotto’s Bell Tower, one of the piazza’s four principal monuments, and discover the lavish Florence Baptistery, which features bronze and golden doors.

As our busy morning continues, we’ll return to the city streets and make our way to the celebrated Accademia Gallery. You’ll find many of Michelangelo’s most renowned works here including the world-famous statue ‘David’. In addition, the gallery is also home to several of his unfinished works such as ‘Prigioni’, and ‘San Matteo’.

One of Italy’s most famous figures, your guide will recount stories about Michelangelo’s life, providing wonderful insight into his personality and why his work, in particular, has become associated with Italy and the city of Florence.

Simply put, Florence is a city that thrives with amazing food, history, and culture. And this tour of Florence’s most famous sites will have you appreciating why it’s one of Italy’s most-loved cities.
